If you have been affected by someone else's addiction, and want to help us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Or if you have a passion for working with young people, and would like to help bring isolated individuals together, and empower others to make important ‘life decisions’, we would really like to hear from you.
There are lots of different ways you can support us:
Online Marketing
We’re looking for a marketing professional prepared to offer their time for free, to help raise awareness and strengthen our online presence, so that we can ‘reach out’ to more of the estimated seven million young people, affected by someone else's addiction. If this is you, please do get in touch.
You could help us to promote our Facebook, Youtube and Twitter pages.
Public Speaking
We’re often asked to speak in schools, at youth groups, and at youth events, about our experiences of living with another's addiction, and to help raise awareness about parental drug and alcohol abuse, and family addiction. You could help us by contacting the school you attended, to see whether you could hold a COAP session. If you’re interested, and would like to find out more about our talks in schools, please contact us.
Sharing your story in the media
When the issue of addiction is raised in the media - we are often contacted and asked whether we know anyone who would like to share their experiences of parental and family addiction. Whilst we do not put the media in contact directly with young people, we are interested in hearing from those over 18 who would be comfortable sharing their story in public, through TV, newspapers, radio and magazines.
Raising Awareness
You could help us by putting a short three-minute video together about addiction, or writing a piece about addiction and it's affects. We can publish your efforts on YouTube and Facebook, to help raise awareness of the problems faced by those affected by parental and family addiction, whilst promoting COAP also. If you would like to work on a project like this, we would be really happy to hear your ideas and help if needed, to piece your video, or short story together.
